Pregnancy tests requested
In April, May, and June 2023, 4,179 women asked us for a free pregnancy test. That's 46 every day! By offering free pregnancy tests, we are accompanying and helping women from the very first moment of their pregnancy journey.
People using our listening service
In April, May, and June, 1,794 people used our free pregnancy listening service. Whatever their emotions - from fear to joy, from uncertainty to courage - we were there to provide support by listening to their individual situation and helping them along their pregnancy journey. The chart shows clients' presenting needs. 'Other' includes contraception, fertility, and practical support.
Mums with babies moving in
We house mums and their babies who would otherwise be homeless, unsupported, or at risk. We can be a place of safety and sanctuary for them. Since March, we have welcomed 22 new mums along with their babies into our Life Houses.

Whenever a mum and baby move out of our Houses to independent living, that's a success story. Since March, 25 mums along with their babies have moved out of our Houses and onto new lives.

Annie* had the acceptance and reassurance to continue her pregnancy
We received this message from Annie earlier this year. Helping women be prepared for motherhood – and giving them support if they feel unprepared – is an essential part of showing women viable options for continuing their pregnancies. Our counselling is non-directive and non-judgmental. This allowed Annie to explore everything that was happening for her in her pregnancy – good, bad, and ugly.
It’s in this moment of authentic human connection that we can start to see more harmonious ways forward in difficult situations. In this case, Annie decided to step into motherhood and is now the proud mother of a one-year-old baby boy … thanks to you.

It’s incredible to hear from our clients about the positive impact your support has had on their lives. We received a letter from one of the 25 Life House mums who is moving on to a brighter future with her baby this quarter.
Over my time at the Life House I have learnt new skils and met some lifelong friends.
I was really anxious at first but I was made to feel comfortable and now I think of this as my home. I’ll be really sad to leave however I’m so ready to have my own home for me and my son.
My Life House journey has been filled with many happy memories which I will cherish forever. The support team at Life House is incredible and I never felt alone when I needed help. I’m leaving here so much more independent than I was a year ago and I now feel ready to tackle life independently. I am so grateful to be given the opportuinities I have here like learning to cook yummy food and getting stuck in with the gardening!

Becky has been courageous, has done amazingly well. and we couldn’t be prouder of what she has achieved. She’s taken her early motherhood as an inspiration rather than an obstacle and shown great self-confidence. Thanks to your support, she’s now living independently with her child.
The Life mums and babies in Woking House are enjoying a redecorated home
Woking House has recently been redecorated, thanks to help from 25 volunteers over two weeks. Thank you to them for all their time and hard work and FE fundinfo for working with us to provide these volunteers. Life House Woking now has a modern and refreshed kitchen, bathroom, and living room.

Baby Danny had a safe arrival
Congratulations to Alice. Her baby Danny was one of 13 babies born in Life Houses in the past three months. It was a complicated pregnancy, but both mum and baby are doing well. Even more importantly, Alice and Danny have a safe space in the LIfe House to bond and make a wonderful start to their life together.

Hiya - just wanted to thank Gemma, Francesca, Hannah, and Janine for everything you guys have done for me and P for the time we were at the House. An added thank you to Gemma for today and everything you are gonna continue to help me with I really appreciate everything.
To have worked as a midwife, it was a privilege to share such precious moments with families. Working as a Life Volunteer we know we are supporting mothers and babies in a very practical way. This helps their dignity, confidence and the opportunity to feel supported and cared for.
Its not as bad as you think, it becomes your life when your in here. It feels like home and I don’t want to move on. Its going to feel weird. I got a lot of help and this house changes your whole path, this house makes your future and your life.
